Hmmmm...I feel you and all of that. I am a Single Dad, but even when I was married to my kids Mom. I cooked 80% of all of our Thanksgivings dinners. I recall cooking 85 to 90% of all meals too. Because my so called wife at the time was sooo tired. I recall that I worked 12 hour days--5 to 6 days a week. I remember making sure my 2 little boys knew who I was--because on my 7th day--I tried to sleep a lot to get rest. Yet--I got so many damn complaints. Now--I am with my 2 kids and they're growing up nicely. Guess what? I do the same thing now at age 50. I have kids 9 and 11 years old. You know what makes me laugh and then at the same time--happy? Ladies in the neighborhood have asked me to cook for them. Trust me--I am all Man. I just know my way around the kitchen---by way of my single Mom who raised 7 of us alone

You know Jay--I would like to agree with you if but for two reasons, I was in long term relationships with two Black Women--whose policy/agenda was to make sure that they did as less as possible around the house.

I can't stand an untidy house--my threshold for looking at an untidy house is one day--not them (Black Women), they can look at filth for months!

I found myself washing dishes, clothes, windows, toilets, bathtubs, taking out garbage, mowing lawns, shopping for groceries, cooking, paying bills--while these lazy-assed broads were talking on the phone--gossiping about jack!

They are more interested in hair and nail care that housekeeping!

It dont stop there--they will drop the kids off on you while they go out and party with friends!

When this happens watch out!

Her next move will be to cheat on you! Because in her twisted distorted mind you're too busy to pay some attention to her Black Ass--there is always some Black Assed Nigga out there with his tail up--nose sniffing around for an easy piece of ass--and these women are the easiest! At this point she feels she has a sucker--and you probably are!

My advice is the first time she asks you to do housework, tell that that is what you got her for! Or hire a cute maid and see how fast her lazy ass gets back into the house!

There is laziness on BOTH sides.No one is perfect,but BOTH parties should do their fair share of everything.I work 2 jobs but on certain days of the week,I'll cook the meals while my better half may take out the trash. Hello,
again I say there is no 'all' or 'none'. Sure sisters are not as domestic as in the past, and from one angle that is good and another not so swell.
Brothers are not always able to completely take care of the bills because we, as a people want more material things. THIS IS NOT ROCKET science!
The stress levels that are injected into the psyche of all Americans in general and Black Americans in specific, takes an additional toll on our homelife situations.
Many of us work in the rat maze of the Corporate American rulers. Corporate administrations function much like politics: keep people mis-focused on tangibles and there is no energy for intangibles such as quality of life.
Many sisters are 'whipped' physically & emotionally when they get home.
Sure its easier to chat or go out because these are seen as 'stress' reducers or 'rewards'. Brothas go to work and off to the sports bar-same thing.
I say that this is a false god. The longevity of the price we pay as a family is an extremely high bar. The short-term fix is only digging us in deeper in exchange for short-lived relief.
Is it not better to go home and organize one's life? Put one's emotional house in order by focusing on the physical house and family. So if it means I prefer to have a maid do heavy cleaning every 2 weeks, then am I willing to give up 4 out of 5 Friday nights going to the spa or bar?
If one is disporportionately involved in outside of family activities then family does not take priority.
So my suggestion, for what it is worth Both parties COME HOME after work and challenge the problems together: no finger pointing but rather have a meeting that is positive and goal oriented focused on problem resolution with all involved parties contributing.
If your baby is not a car washer or house keeper, then tackle the issue not the person. MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!

U do seem sexist. If a woman can go out and work just as much as the man he can do as much around the house as her! plain and simple. Sounds like it's not us that's lazy. I know plenty women who work as much as the man and still takes most care of the kids and home this is not fair and any man who has a working wife who wont split house duties 50/50 is selfish, but some men are selfish by nature and it's up to us women not to chose to associate with these types of men. By the way, There are things that men should be doing too, as a man. My dad always does the cooking out on the grill. What about that? Or should the woman do all that too? Mom does cook on thanksgiving and she works on it for days and we females help her and wash dishes afterward, but u men need to be the ones shoveling snow and chopping firewoood, thank you very much. Sorry but it goes both ways. Black men are known to be much lazier than black women by the way.Notice its ususally the female who only wants whats fair thats usually all we ask for, but the male is always the one who wants more than his share, and is biased in the men's favor.
